| LGBTQA Youth Support Group
The GLYS Youth Support Group provides gay, lesbian, bisexual,
transgender, and questioning teens (ages 13-18) and their
supportive friends a safe place to meet and talk with each
other. Teens from Rochester and the SE Minnesota area are
welcome. We sometimes have speakers talking about issues that
concern us, and occasionally plan fun, social activities.
Meetings take place in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental
atmosphere with adult facilitators. We meet on Thursday evenings
from 5-7 PM at 1500 First Avenue NE.
Community Education
GLYS offers resources, speakers, and workshops for individuals
and groups interested in learning more about the needs and
issues facing LGBT youth. We have worked with teachers, counselors,
churches, social services agencies, and community organizations.
The GLYS Speakers Bureau includes LGBT teens, parents of LGBT
children, adult members of the LGBT community, and youth-serving
professionals. Presentations and training events are designed
to meet the needs and goals of each audience. For more information,
please contact us.
